Coppin State University to Host Premiere Screening of Welcome to Coppin

BALTIMORE – Coppin State University, in collaboration with Maryland Public Television (MPT) and MECCA Filmworks, is proud to announce the premiere screening of Welcome to Coppin as part of MPT’s HBCU Week Now. The screening will take place on Friday, September 5, at 6:00 p.m. in the James Weldon Johnson Auditorium on Coppin’s campus.

This short documentary captures the essence of Coppin State University’s mission and its bold vision for the future. Through intimate interviews and vivid campus imagery, Welcome to Coppin highlights President Anthony L. Jenkins’ personal journey, the university’s transformation in the wake of the pandemic, and Coppin’s leadership in developing innovative academic programs that prepare graduates to meet the needs of Baltimore, Maryland, and the global workforce.

The screening is free and open to the public, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
